It tells the story of a high-school girl who is trained in martial arts and a new transfer student, a boy with mysterious powers. Riding the bus one day, Sakura Sakurakouji looks out the window to see people being burned alive with a blue fire as a boy her age remains unharmed and stands over the people. When she goes back to the site the next day, there are no corpses or evidence of any kind of murder, just a small fire. When Sakura goes to class, she discovers the new transfer student is the same boy she saw the day before. Sakura soon learns that he is Rei Ogami, the sixth "Code: Breaker," a special type of assassin with a strange ability and a
member of a secret organization that serves the government.
Review
So far, Code:Breaker has been my favourite of the Fall season. It is
true that there are only 4 episodes yet but if we consider the fact that
this anime is going to have only 13 episodes, these 4 episodes are
enough to give a fair opinion of it. Rei has the power of burning people
with his flame and without hesistation he kills people- they are either
evil or criminal people- as if lighting his cigarette but he is still a
very cool and likeable character. He leaves the impression that there
is a reason behind all his cruel way of killing and while doing so, he is not depicted like an emo or a drama queen. Instead, he keeps his cool attitude whatever the circumstances are. As much as Rei, Toki is also very interesting character. With his involvement in the series, the dark heavy air is dispersed. In fact, he kinda balances the heavy and dark air Rei rises. Especially, if you are a keen on both comedy and supernatural, you'll enjoy the parts where Toki appears.
Sakura is the type of annoying girl who butts in Rei's business on every possible occasion but I think Rei likes her company and is curious about her as he believes she is the rare species. With Toki's coming to the stage, Rei will probably be more closer to Sakura. They would make an interesting couple.
