Psycho-Pass ( Saiko Pasu, romanized as PSYCHO-PASS in Japan) is a Japanese anime television series by Production I.G. It began airing on October 11, 2012 in Japan. The series has been licensed by Funimation Entertainment in North America.This is the story of a team of policemen dedicated to maintaining public
order. Some of them work in the Enforcement Division, responsible for
the apprehension of criminals, while others belong to the Supervisory
Division which oversees their colleagues in Enforcement. Plot
In the near future it is possible to instantaneously measure a person's
mental state, personality, and the probability that a person will commit
crimes with a device installed on each citizen's body called the
Psycho-Pass. When this probability, measured by the "Crime Coefficient"
index, is too high in some individuals those individuals are pursued and
apprehended—with lethal force, if necessary. This task is performed by a
special team of potential criminals called Enforcers, who are
supervised by police officers known as Inspectors; the Inspectors ensure
that Enforcers perform their duties within the constraints of the law.
Enforcers and Inspectors employ special weapons called "Dominators" that
are designed to fire only on those with a higher than normal Crime
Coefficient. The story follows Unit 1 of the Public Safety Bureau's
Criminal Investigation Division.Review
The story of Psycho-pass happens in a future where most of the citizens have their minds read by a program, that say if they are healthy and if the're a threat to the society. If their psycho pass indicates they are not mentally healthy and are a trheat, the system name them as latent criminal.
When the system detect someone as a latent criminal, it call the police. The police use other latent criminals, named hunting dogs, to chase who has surpassed the coefficient criminal. They use a special gun, that only authorizes then to shoot when the person is a latent criminal. It has two forms, one that paralizes and other that kill the target.In this story, you are introduced to Tsunemori Akane, a new inspector. Initially it appears to be in the wrong job, but as the story goes ( ep. 2 so far) it can be noted that even if she has doubts about if she choose the right job, it can be seen she add something to the work, and even if I had watched only two episodes, I saw an evolution on the caracther.The hunting dogs, that apparently aren't interesting, are probably the one of the most interesting things of the anime. For example Masaoka Tomomi, an old men. He guide Akane in her first action and give her some advices. He is probably deeper than Kougami shinga, the black haired guy with the badass looking face, probably because he's old.
Well, if you want to watch this anime because of the violence, until now, just 2 deaths. I think it's one of the best of the year, but because of the story be more adult than the other, as it is a future where every thought is controlled and where your future is decided by a program.
